Back flow cones are designed to only be used with back flow burners. The cones have a hole through them and the Backflow burner has a hole where the cone is placed. This results in the smoke going downwards swirling around the burner creating a cool effect. You should also put a protective mat under backflow burners to prevent moisture damage from the smoke
